Travel far enough, you meet yourself Anais Nin
From El Jem, we headed to Medina De Sousse, a historic walled city that dates back to the 9th century. As we wandered through the narrow streets, we marveled at the beautiful architecture, the vibrant markets, and the rich history that seemed to seep from every stone. However, we couldn’t help but notice the poor state of infrastructure in the medina – crumbling buildings, potholed roads, and a general air of neglect. It was a shame, as this incredible piece of history deserved so much better.
Despite the challenges posed by the heat and infrastructure, our day trip was an unforgettable experience. We left with a deeper appreciation for Tunisia’s rich history, culture, and natural beauty. And as we returned to the comfort of our luxury resort, we felt grateful for the opportunity to experience the best of both worlds – relaxation and adventure, luxury and authenticity.
