Our happiest moments as tourists always seem to come when we stumble upon one thing while in pursuit of something else.Lawrence Block
The closest seafront/beach and one of my all-time favorites in England is the Pebble beaches of Brighton. A quick getaway south of London and you reach this magnificent beach town of Brighton. The location has made it a popular destination for tourists, renowned for its diverse communities, quirky shopping areas, large cultural, music and arts scene and its large LGBT population, leading to its reverence as the “Unofficial gay capital of the UK”. Visit Brighton and make the most of the beauty of a Pebble beach – A day trip from London.
The standout attraction of Brighton are its beaches. This was the first time I had seen a fully pebble beach. The other main attraction is the Brighton Pier – a Victorian pier with various food and drink outlets, fairground attractions and Palace of Fun arcade and also a choice of bars and fish and chips restaurants.
The first time I visited was as a bachelor:
If you are keen for a Day trip from London to enjoy the countryside then visit the New Forest.
Next, as a married man:
Another sea side town worth visiting is the northern city of Blackpool.
And finally as a Family when Mom and Dad visited London:
Brighton continues to be my favorite beach destination in England and we do make it a point to visit at least once in summer.
Another Day trip worth doing while in London is to watch the Grey Seals – Read More.
We were on a road trip with Mom & Dad, so after enjoying the sun in Brighton we head straight towards Cambridge – Click here
