Our Road Trip to Niagara Falls:A Magical Winter Wonderland

As we set off from New Jersey on a crisp December morning, the excitement was palpable. Audrey had spent a wonderful few days visiting her cousins Kevin and Grace in New York, and now it was time for a weekend adventure to Niagara Falls. My brother-in-law had rented a spacious seven-seater car the night before, and we were all raring to go.

As we hit the road, we traversed through the picturesque landscapes of Pennsylvania, passing by rolling hills, quaint towns, and frozen lakes. The winter scenery was breathtaking, with snow-covered trees and fields stretching as far as the eye could see. We marveled at the beauty of the Pocono Mountains, their peaks still capped with a dusting of snow.As we entered New York State, the landscape shifted to a more rugged terrain, with rocky outcroppings and dense forests. We passed by several charming towns and continued north towards the Canadian border.

Finally, after hours of driving, we arrived at our destination – Niagara Falls. We had booked a cozy Air BnB just a stone’s throw away from the falls, and it was the perfect base for our winter wonderland adventure.That evening, we braved the freezing cold to watch the fireworks display over the falls. It was a truly magical experience, with the colorful explosions illuminating the misty veil that surrounded the falls. The kids (and adults!) were mesmerized by the spectacle, and we all huddled together for warmth, grinning from ear to ear.

The next morning, we bundled up and headed out to explore the falls. Despite the biting cold and snow, the scenery was nothing short of breathtaking. The falls themselves were shrouded in mist, but the surrounding landscape was transformed into a winter wonderland, with snow-covered trees and frozen waterfalls.

After a fun-filled morning exploring the falls, we reluctantly bid farewell to Niagara and began our journey back to New Jersey. En route, we stopped at the charming town of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, which is famous for its Christmas decorations and festivities- though we dint see much – not sure why!

As we drove back through the night, tired but happy, we all agreed that this had been an unforgettable trip. The road trip itself had been an adventure, with stunning landscapes and exciting stops along the way. And of course, the highlight of the trip had been for the cousins – Audrey, Grance and Kevin spending quality time and making the trip so much fun.
