- Bike rental are the best option to see Cappadocia up close and personal. Take the off beaten tracks and explore the chimneys up close.
- Most of the bike hire places provide maps which come real handy. Also don’t venture too far out as this place is quite lonely and very easy to get lost.
- Most of the bike rental places need you to have an International license for hiring a bike. However, they are quite flexible about it. They accept your local country license as well. However, I didn’t have both at the moment but was still able to hire a bike on my passport. They will need you to leave your license/passport with them as proof and collect on returning the bike. You will need a motorbike license if you are hiring a more powerful bike.
- Goreme gets quite chilly towards the evening — so get a good jacket and more importantly get gloves. These are a must else your hands will literally be frozen.
- Bike rentals cost 50-60 TL per day and you can have a pillion rider
