Changed into something more comfortable and cosy we were off on our way to see George square to see its imposing Architecture. The square boasts an important collection of statues and monuments, including those dedicated to Robert Burns, James Watt, Sir Robert Peel and Sir Walter Scott. It was quite calm and less crowded.
A Scotland trip is incomplete without visiting the beautiful city of Edinburgh.
Few pictures and after admiring the beauty of the surrounding buildings we were on our way strolling through the streets to reach St Enoch shopping mall for some retail therapy. Just across the mall is River Clyde – Scotland’s second largest river flowing through the heart of Glasgow and known historically for home for Britain’s most notorious pirates.

A 10 minute walk from the city centre and a fantastic way to travel back in time is to visit the Glasgow Cathedral. This magnificent example of Scottish Gothic architecture was built between the 13th & 15th centuries and is widely regarded as the high point of cathedral building in Europe. The crypt within the Cathedral was constructed in the mid-1200’s to house the tomb of St Kentigern.
Just behind the cathedral is the Necropolis – which is nothing but a Victorian cemetery. Not a huge fan or visiting people’s burial places but the Necropolis stands out over Glasgow. The skies had opened up and we wound our way up the hill to see the huge tombstones.

Glasgow speaks for itself in many different ways. The people are quite different to the ones you would encounter in rest of the UK. If you have any queries/feedback do leave a comment and I’ll get back to you at the earliest.
